Introducing Functional Medicine Nutrition  One-on-One Nutrition Consultations for Wellness Warriors Functional Medicine Nutrition is playing a key role in the effort to solve the modern epidemic of chronic disease that is creating a health crisis both nationally and globally. Because chronic disease is food- and lifestyle-driven, environment- and genetics-influenced phenomenon, Functional Medicine Nutrition is an approach that directly addresses the underlying causes of disease. Set up a One-on-One Consultation to review your health goals and design your own personal health plan. You will learn that science validates the following; " that many medical problems can be treated by appropriate lifestyle and nutritional changes " that there may be other alternatives to medications and surgery " and, probably most important, that asking key questions and reviewing options with your healthcare practitioner will give you better health outcomes  To your schedule your 45 minute one on one session with our Wellness Warriors Nutritiontists, Debra Cavender please see Trainings, Seminars, Workshops on academica under the Wellness Warriors subheading.  How to Prepare for Your Nutrition Session To facilitate the assessment portion of your session and make the most of your time with the Nutritionist complete some or all of the following: - List your top personal health goals (i.e. Lose weight, eat more vegetables, have more energy) - Complete "Health and Nutrition Questionnaire" (url is provided below) http://wellness.wayne.edu/pdfs/health_nutrition_questionnaire.pdf - Complete a 2-day food and beverage diary (Don't change anything you are currently doing for this exercise). Your nutrition session is designed to find answers to functional problems and help you understand your unique requirements. Please Note: By appointment only. For Wellness Warrior Participants only. If you need to cancel your scheduled session, please give a 48 hour notice. If a 48 hour cancellation is not provided, your Nutrition Session will be forfeited. The number of eligible services is based on your risk level. You will have the opportunity to utilize a combination of Nutrition and/or Personal Training Sessions. A Wellness Warrior at a moderate risk could choose to use their four eligible sessions by signing up for two Personal Training sessions and two Lifestyle Nutrition sessions. Refresh your energy! Wellness Warriors sponsored yoga class at Detroit Yoga Lab on Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 7:15 AM - 8:00 AM.  Please bring your mat.To sign up log into your Academica Account and then click here. Please bring a piece of I.D. and sign in upon arrival.  Wellness Warriors is happy to announce their partnership with Detroit Yoga Lab. Throughout the year there will be Wellness Warriors sponsored yoga classes hosted at the Detroit Yoga Lab Studio located in Mid Town.  More about Detroit Yoga Lab Detroit Yoga Lab offers more than 30 classes a week, from heated vinyasa to candle light yin, and everything in between for new yogis and seasoned practitioners alike. Our studio pulses and breathes; the air is sort of electric. And most importantly, there is a real sense of community that pervades this studio and makes students want to return.We see the beauty and possibility in everyone! Our teachers are friendly, accessible for questions and are all RYT Certified through the Yoga Alliance to provide the most knowledgeable classes about how to move safe, build strength, increase flexibility and release stress through yoga.Yoga is a practice that helps us all be our best, not a practice to make us all look the same:We're so excited to meet you!
