New for 2013, WSU employees can now select between two vision plan options, Basic and Enhanced Buy-Up.  The dual option vision coverage provides a significant enhancement to the Wayne State University overall benefit package.

Basic Vision Plan

The Basic Plan, which is unchanged from previous years, will automatically be provided to all eligible employees who are enrolled in a WSU medical plan. Note: If you are not interested in a higher level of vision coverage, no action is required. You will remain in the current basic vision plan. See vision plan cost comparison chart for rates.

Enhanced Buy-Up Vision Plan

Employees have the option during open enrollment to upgrade to the Enhanced Buy-up Plan, which offers higher eyewear allowances and several lens options covered with no copay as part of the benefit.  If you elect the Enhanced Buy-up Plan you must remain in that plan for the full 2013 calendar year. See vision plan cost comparison chart for rates.

Voluntary Vision Plan

If you have not elected WSU medical insurance, you may enroll in the Voluntary Vision Plan during Open Enrollment, at time of hire or upon a Life Status Change event. For 2013, employees who are not enrolled in a WSU medical plan are eligible to choose either the Voluntary Basic or Enhanced Buy-Up Plan for their vision coverage. Use this form to enroll in the Voluntary Vision Plan.
